DEMOCRACY CLOCK is an innovative method of measuring Democracy and democratic standards. It is designed for all of the Member States of the United Nations.
I make use of a wall clock as an Ideal Representation of Democracy. I set the Clock at twenty minutes to twelve midnight. How I arrived at twenty minutes to twelve midnight is pretty complex. What is important is the fact that the Clock and setting fit the purpose. To use the book one requires a reasonable degree of literacy and lateral thinking. This brings me to an issue which is dear to my heart.
UK is heading for another General Election. I believe that we have over-sold ourselves in the UK in areas of literacy and democratic standards.
In a corner of Lambeth there are thousands of people who do not know how to use a computer, people who have no knowledge whatsoever of what "email" is all about. In another part of London I came across a fellow who signed his name with his thumb!! DEMOCRACY CLOCK is highly recommended.
